Manual Surveying held back the Progress
Previously, site surveying at HEIM was carried out using GNSS rovers or total stations – time-consuming and labor-intensive. Data was not always available when needed to support the construction team with planning or procurement decisions.
What was needed was a simple, ready-to-use solution that would speed up surveying while relieving operational pressure on-site.
Our Solution
Everyday Use on Site
HEIM now uses the SDX-Compact System, installed on its survey vehicle. Data collection takes place simply by driving across the construction area.Thanks to quick data availability and ease of use, the survey team can cover multiple sites per day. The system has proven especially effective in road construction, where large areas need to be documented quickly and efficiently.
Site Drive-Through
The terrain is captured in two passes:
- First pass to document the existing (pre-construction) ground level
- Second pass after earthworks to record the excavation base
The scanning is carried out without interrupting site operations – just by driving over the area with the survey vehicle.
Data Processing
After each scan, the data is automatically uploaded to the SDX-Cloud, where the office team can access and process it within a short time. Export to the existing CAD environment happens directly, enabling immediate volume calculations and planning.
